The Stiftung Solarenergie is a foundation dedicated to development aid
The aim of the Stiftung Solarenergie is to alleviate poverty in developing countries by promoting the use of renewable sources of energy, above all solar power. Energy is vital because it is a prerequisite for education, healthcare and development.
At present the foundation is only active in Africa.
The Stiftung Solarenergie is a people’s foundation
Around 750 sun donors have contributed towards the capital of the foundation, thus enabling it to work on a sustained basis in Africa. All those who are interested in the work of the foundation still have the possibility of becoming a sun donor by making a minimum donation of 100 euros (www.sonne-stiften.org)
The Stiftung Solarenergie acts on a long-term basis.
The capital of the foundation must be maintained. Its projects are financed using the yield from the foundation’s capital as well as donations.
The Stiftung Solarenergie is a charitable organisation
Its purposes are exclusively and directly charitable. The directors, the members of the foundation board and those of the advisory board all work on a honorary basis.
